The Fund for Santa Barbara raised more money than ever at the 2008 Bread and Roses fundraiser, attended by 600 people at the QAD campus on Ortega Hill Road and featuring the live auctioneering of State Senate candidate Hannah-Beth Jackson. The nonprofit brought in $117,000 and spent just $16,000, meaning it netted more than $100,000 for the first time ever, an increase of 25 percent over last year.
