• In honor of national public radio station KCLU, Larry Hagman-who played J.R. Ewing on Dallas and Capt. Tony Nelson on I Dream of Jeannie-and his wife Maj are hosting an afternoon at their home, Heaven Ranch, in Ojai. The casual gathering takes place from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 31. • The S.B. Public Library System’s Adult Literacy Program needs volunteers to work as one-on-one tutors. By tutoring once or twice a week, you can help someone reach personal goals, such as reading to a child or getting a better job.
