Mourners and friends of the late Selmer “Sam” Wake, a longtime Santa Barbara City College employee, gathered on 6/22 in the Turnpike Drive Adult Education center that bears his name to share stories of his life and praise his achievements. Speakers-including two emeritus SBCC presidents, John Romo and Peter MacDougall-credited Wake with having turned the school’s Adult Education programs into integral facets of the Santa Barbara community.
