Celebrate Black History Month by being a part of the ninth annual series honoring African heritage.

• All month at the Cabrillo Arts Pavilion, check out the Art and Peace exhibit, with art made by child soldiers and widows of the war in Uganda.

• See historical manuscripts honoring the 50th anniversary of integration at Little Rock High School at the Karpeles Museum, 21 W. Anapamu Street, which is open daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Wednesday, February 6, at 6 p.m., a free film about integration, Crisis at Central High, will screen at the MultiCultural Center at UCSB, followed by a panel discussion.

• Saturday, February 9, from 1-4 p.m., the S.B. Library hosts a Kidz Day with short films, activities, and live performances.

• Friday, February 15, from 5-9 p.m., join a community celebration with music by Al Reese and African dancing, drumming, and delicious food at Cabrillo Arts Pavilion.

• Saturday, February 23, take part in an all-day film festival at the Metro 4, including the acclaimed Honeydripper, starring Danny Glover.
