Plans to revamp De la Guerra Plaza by banning cars and creating more open-air dining were shot down during a three-hour discussion before the Planning Commission on 2/22. With the notable exception of the Trust for Historic Preservation, most speakers favored leaving the plaza as it is, especially surrounding business owners who don’t want to lose the parking spaces that border the lawn.
