What's Funny About the News-Press

Very little, but at least Connie Bryan is trying in an online video

I was unaware of Connie Bryan until this video appeared on my desktop. Their are some laughs to be had here -- about as infrequent as the real life drama surrounding the News-Press craziness since July '06, but they are there. And the Larry David impression lurches from spot-on to trying. Lauren Peterson plays Larry's wife, Cheryl.

None-the-less, let's give some props to Connie, "a talk host /comedian /songwriter /musician living in Santa Barbara, California, currently producing/hosting "The Connie Bryan Show" on Santa Barbara cable access channel 17. I'm hoping to find an opportunity in show business either in television or radio. I'm originally from Orlando, Florida, where in addition to hosting a popular midday talk radio show for 4 years, I taught as a comedian/instructor for "The IMPROV COMEDY TRAFFIC SCHOOL," for a good shot at the subject (and others).

The News-Press reference occurs at about 3:30, for those in a hurry.

This Larry David bit was featured in the Connie Bryan Show about 9 months ago, which played on Santa Barbara Channels, community-access cable TV-17.

Bonus points to the new Indy staff who identify the location of this video recording.

Connie is quite talented in her schtick. Everyone should see her fully-costumed and makeuped imitation of Condi Rice or GW Bush.

In a prior career, Barney Brantingham wrote about the Condi Rice characature act.

Sorry, don't watch community access.

Now that it's on the Independent site it will probably get another 15 viewers.

Video shot Victoria Court, most likely above Bianco, Mr. Public Access Smarty Pants.

Since you like to spell creatively, should I add "Douché?"

Good job (especially the bit about the News-Supress), but it went on for too long. Try keeping it to 4-5 minutes.

And Lauren Peterson is pretty fine. She should lose the glasses and jacket, so we can see what she really looks like.
