Archaeologists may have made a thrilling discovery at the Santa Barbara Mission. While digging in a garden on the northeast edge of the Mission, experts found the complete stone foundation of a Chumash house. The garden is bordered by Pueblo, Garden, and Los Olivos streets. It’s one of the last remaining structures of an entire Chumash village. The dig was completed on 2/13 in front of several Chumash representatives.
