Abby Reutzel

SCHOOL OF ROCK: Abby Reutzel is a transplant to California from Ohio and Florida. She moved to Santa Barbara last year to attend Laguna Blanca School, where she is entering her sophomore year. Abby is an avid reader who especially enjoys tracking up-and-coming bands and attending their concerts. When she’s not reading about or listening to new music, Abby volunteers at K-9 Pals, where she takes care of some cute potential pets. In addition to her contributions at The Independent, she writes for the Fourth Estate, which is the newspaper at Laguna Blanca School, and has also published articles in the San Diego Reader and San Diego Union Tribune. Abby hopes to live and work in London, England, after she graduates from college. In the meantime, she is preparing for the future by studying hard in school and working to build a reputation as a rock critic here at The Independent.
