If you have reservations about using the phone to make reservations, Open Table (opentable.com) is for you. Restaurants use this software to track their customers, but diners can use it to make easy, online reservations for free, while racking up redeemable points. In Santa Barbara, 13 restaurants participate, from the new Coast at the Canary Hotel to the Hitching Post II out in Buellton. But locally we’re a tiny fraction of all the fine places you can snag that hard-earned table. I just booked one at L.A.’s hottest new spot Comme Ça without a problem.
