Clinic, a Liverpool-based band famously known for performing shows dressed in scrubs and face masks, have emerged from the studio with Do It!, an album that can easily be dubbed the most deliciously haunting and creative of their career. At first listen, the album sounds as raw and eerily dreamy as the band’s previous releases, but unlike the four before it, new elements of ’60s Motown and surf guitar have been introduced — and perfectly executed — over layers of pleasantly dizzying melodies and solid rhythms that manage to survive the electric shock of menacing guitar-riff intervals. Clinic fans new and old can look forward to a tour in support of Do It!, with shows scheduled for both San Francisco and Los Angeles this May.
