Congressmember Lois Capps is maintaining her rhetorical onslaught against cigarette advertising in women’s magazines even though tobacco giant R.J. Reynolds has indicated it might reduce the amount of money it spends on print advertising. Capps has taken to task Ms. and other women’s magazines for accepting tobacco money, and has sought to use her office to assail the tobacco industry’s targeting of younger women and girls.
