Dr. Karen Halligan, devoted pet owner and respected veterinarian, has developed a distinguished veterinary medical career while gaining acclaim as a national spokesperson for animals. Halligan has appeared on ABC, NBC, Fox, Animal Planet, and HGTV, and is currently the director of veterinary services at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Los Angeles. She has recently added “author” to her résumé with her book, What Every Pet Owner Should Know: Prescriptions for Happy, Healthy Cats and Dogs, where she shares practical tips and advice on diet, health, exercise, reducing vet bills, disaster preparedness, and much more. Next Wednesday, November 14, at 7 p.m., Halligan will be on hand at the downtown Borders Books for a book-signing, as well as a pet CPR demonstration and a discussion on pet safety during the holidays.
