Trial Begins for Former Cop's Sex Charges

A former Santa Barbara County sheriff's deputy, Jon Holm, went on trial for having sex with a 15-year-old girl he had placed under arrest. Holm claimed he was lured into the girl’s room by her grandparents, who wanted to sue, but the girl read several letters in court that she claimed Holm sent her asking forgiveness for what he’d done. In a separate but related matter, Holm is appealing his discharge from the Sheriff's Department.
