The City of Goleta will have to wait to procure a one-acre property near Ellwood Mesa, after the Board of Supervisors said a presentation given on 5/15 about the proposed purchase was incomplete. While the total appraised cost of the property was said to be $595,000, Goleta offered to buy it for $425,000, with plans to protect the area as open space. The board disagreed on how the land was appraised and noted that Goleta has until November to complete the purchase.
