SB BioBlitz Yields Over 800 Unique Species

Scientists identified more than 800 different species living in the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden during this weekend’s “BioBlitz.” The 24-hour ecological survey was the first of its kind to be held on the Central Coast. The study was conducted as a way of examining biodiversity in a concentrated area over a short period of time. During the course of the year, well over 1,000 species reportedly inhabit the Garden.
