Members of UCSB Associated Students and public interest group CalPIRG presented Chancellor Henry T. Yang with the 2007 Climate Change Award on 5/7 in recognition of his cooperation with the plan to make the UC system “climate-neutral”-that is, having no overall negative impact on the environment. UC joined the University President’s Climate Commitment, which aims to give colleges a primary role in the effort to become “ecologically responsible.”
