You are in your car, listening to the radio. What are you
listening to? A mix of talk and music? The sound of loudspeakers?
Or the distance created by a transmitter on a hill miles away?
Could this be a space for art? On Friday, February 16 at 11 a.m.,
in UCSB’s McCune Conference Room, artist August Black will discuss
the concept of radio art, a space that is part perception, part
sculpture, and part acoustics existing in the social, physical, and
programmatic aspects of radio. See www.ihc.ucsb.edu/research/sita.html.
