Forbes magazine published a list this week naming the top 10 priciest U.S. home sales in 2007, citing hedge fund manager Bruce Kovner’s purchase of a three-acre home on Carpinteria’s Padaro Lane for $35 million as the sixth-most expensive in the nation and the first property listed outside New York City. Kovner spent $83.5 million this year on properties in Carpinteria, including one formerly owned by Kevin Costner.
