County Works to Reduce Use of Toxins

The Grounds Management Committee appeared before the county Board of Supervisors on 12/4 to present an annual update on the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy, adopted by the county to reduce levels of toxicity in pesticides used on its grounds. Last year, IPM eliminated the use of herbicides within 50 feet of playgrounds and picnic tables, and ceased pesticide use on the lawns of the county courthouse and Arroyo Burro Park.
