In anticipation of A&L’s upcoming performance of the famed
Chinese opera Peony Pavilion, Dr. Dongshin Chang, visiting lecturer
at UCSB’s department of dramatic art, will deliver a lecture on the
visual beauty of the Kun Opera — its makeup, headdresses, costumes,
and dance movements — through slides and film clips from the
production. The free event goes down Sunday, September 24 at 2
p.m., at Mary Craig Auditorium.
