Description: Ring Shout is a sacred, spiritual tradition our enslaved brothers carried out when they arrived in the United States. It involves call and response singing, dancing in a circle, clapping, stomping, and beating on a wooden floor or surface with a broom or stick to make rhythms. We need help in keeping this tradition alive. We are seeking individuals to complete our team, and, who are capable of beating the Ring Shout rhythms. We have a DVD demonstrating Ring Shout. Practice is every Fridays. Come help us preserve this beautiful, spiritual tradition, and pass along to future generations. Performances are optional.

Fireside Room, upstairs.
