Shen Yun is a spectacular dance and music performance that strives to bring back a 5,000 years of Chinese civilization and culture that were nearly lost to Communism and systematic campaigns of destruction, such as the Cultural Revolution. At the heart of the show are dancers who flip, spin and leap with ease, never for a moment revealing that Chinese dance is one of the most rigorous arts forms in the world.
Audiences are taken on a transformational journey through wondrous tapestries of heavenly realms, ancient legends and modern heroic tales from the plains of Tibet to the shores of a Dai village and the sprawling plains of Mongolia. Stories of enlightenment and morality, in addition to the show’s intense dedication to restoring its culture and craft, inspire and move audience members all over the world.
Featuring some of the world’s foremost classically trained dancers, a powerful orchestra that blends the music of both East and West, beautiful traditional costumes and stunning animated backdrops, Shen Yun, which translates to divine beauty or grace, truly embodies its name, creating a life-changing performance that cannot be missed.
