The Pro-Youth participants have been meeting regularly since July and have formed several subcommittees. The Jobs Committee has identified job skills and job pportunities as key components to helping young people stay out of street life and be successful. PYM will collaborate with agencies and programs providing job readiness and job skills training, such as the Workforce Investment Board, yStrive, Freedom4Youth, Partners in Education, and ARRC. PYM is continuing to survey families and teens as to their needs and their challenges. Our September meeting will break up into small groups and encourage participants to get active with our committees,
which include:

 Education/Schools
 Juvenile Justice
 Jobs
 Outreach
 Research
 Las Abuelitas (The Grandmothers)

The Pro-Youth Movement aims to engage human resources to support youth and families in the greater Santa Barbara area. We are committed to:

 Organizing volunteers to support programs already in place and connecting families to
programming and services
 Assessing needs and identifying holes in the safety net
 Support all efforts to empower youth to live positive, healthy and fulfilling lives
