Brasil Arts Cafe: Brazilian Day

Santa Barbara can experience Brazilian culture at its best with a day of free events, classes and performances in celebration of Brazil’s Independence Day.

Brasil Arts Cafe will kick off the festivities at lunchtime with the Brasil vs. Australia soccer match. At 3pm, Chefs Cida Sousa and Carlos Lima are teaching Brazilian culinary classes followed by fun performances – from Samba to Capoeira to Pandeiro - a small hand drum that's considered unofficial instrument of Brasil. Other Brazilian owned companies are participating including, Santa Barbara Samba School and Hip Brazil.
Live Brazilian music with Bruno, Luana, Miguelito, and Chin begin at 6:30pm. After the celebration at Brasil Arts Café, everyone can head over to SOHO for the after party at 10pm. It is a full day to celebrate the lively culture of Brazil. Here is the full schedule of events:
