Six prominent local Funk Zone artists, Erika Carter, Michael Irwin, Virginia McCracken, Dan Levin, Philip Koplin and Lindsey Ross, have teamed up to install original works of art on the storefront doors of the Anacapa Project located at the corner of Anacapa and Yanonali Streets in Santa Barbara.

Erika Carter of Green House Studios has brought together five local artists and colleagues to join her in launching the inaugural installation of the art panels. Katie Hay, Project Developer and Property Manager of Central Coast Real Estate states, “We are very fortunate that Erika has stepped up to organize and curate this installation with artists that are all within a two block radius of the Project. We hope this public gallery will give these talented Funk Zone artists broader exposure within a large platform that is easily accessible to the public.”

One of the missions in the revitalization effort of the Anacapa Project was to embrace and celebrate the Funk Zone’s artistic roots. Large industrial doors covering each storefront along Yanonali Street were designed to hold art panels, providing an opportunity for local artists to display their work.

Located the sidewalk on Yanonali Street in front of the Guitar Bar, Area 5.1 Winery, Riverbench Winery, Cutler’s Artisan Spirits, and Figueroa Mountain Brewery
