Wrongful Convictions in Criminal Cases
The California Innocent Project will educate members of the community who are interested in criminal justice and wrongful convictions.

Event features Justin Brooks, Executive Director, Institute for Criminal Defense Advocacy & Project Director, California Innocence Project. Since its inception in 1999, the California Innocence Project (CIP) has successfully exonerated nine individuals. The individuals have spent a combined total of 113 years in prison and cost taxpayers millions of dollars in incarceration alone.
This event will cover topics including eyewitness testimony, false confessions, police misconduct and other issues that surround wrongful convictions.
