With an opportunity to view 38 participating artist studios, some of which have shown in well-known galleries internationally and in the U.S. from Los Angeles to New York, the studio tour is a chance to see and buy work of established artists as well as budding emerging talent who have taken residence in the beautiful Summerland and Carpinteria Valley.
Some of this year’s highlights include new works by well-known local artist, John Wullbrandt, (http://www.wullbrandt.com/) in his brand new gallery on Maple. It has long been a dream of Wullbrandt’s to open a creative gallery space in the heart of Carpinteria and he is excited to share the grand opening of “910 Maple Gallery”, with the 7th Annual Artist Studio Tour weekend.
Summerland based artist, Tom Henderson, (http://www.tomhendersonart.com/) will also be opening his studio for the weekend’s festivities. Admired for his incredible, plein air paintings of California scenes, Tom will be showcasing his most recent watercolor and oil paintings.
Young graphic designer and poet, Lauren Wilson’s dream of sharing locally made, upcycled and unique goods with the community became a reality this year with the opening of her new store on Carpinteria Avenue, DnA, (http://www.dnadesignart.com/). With a passion for making art by hand, she has explored metalsmithing, bookbinding, and creative sewing., Lauren will be showcasing her latest wares during the 7th Annual Carpinteria Studio Tour.
