These leaders left us a legacy of commitment to work for PEACE and JUSTICE in our communities and our nation. We will have short, 3 to 5 minute-long speeches for participants in eulogy of the efforts of local activists who have inspired us with their vision for a more just and enduring democratic society.
Most recently we have lost Lynn Hendred. She worked until her death at all her important projects: controlling punitive banks, fighting errant Nuclear Power,( notably DIABLO CANYON). Education for elders on alternative medicine, and organic food. The WILPF agenda included NO drones, fracking or pipelines.
We also remember other precious people who have worked and passed: Art Schwartz, Nancy Broyles, David Wass. June Sunderland, Betty Shoemaker, and Maurine Parker to mention just a few. These Leaders left us a legacy of purpose to plan and work for PEACE.
