Description:

Berkley Hart have found something that works. The combination of Kerrville New Folk Songwriter Award winner Jeff Berkley and stand-out wordsmith Calman Hart creates a pairing that, over their ten-plus years together, continues to build fans all over the country.

Starting out in the coffeehouse circuit of San Diego in the late 90s, it soon became clear that Berkley Hart were a cut above the average acoustic players. Their unique sound is at once playful and poignant as they deftly combine down-home humor with masterful lyrics delivered with stunning harmony and musicianship. Beginning with their debut award-winning album, "Wreck 'n' Sow," the duo set a precedent of excellence that they have lived up to with their subsequent, and also award-winning, releases: "Something to Fall Back On," "Twelve," "Pocket Change," and "Las Vegas." Taking their songs on the road, the duo filled a solid touring schedule that took them across the country. It’s great to have them at Song Tree again. Berkley Hart have traveled the folk circuit, making appearances at the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Folk Alliance International conference, and regional Folk Alliance conferences (FARWest, SWRFA), as well as playing some of folk's most prestigious venues including the Birchmere and The Bluebird Cafe.

Tickets are available in advance by mail (see the web site www.SongTree.org for information), and at Folk Mote Music, and Jensen Guitar and Music in Santa Barbara. Tickets will also be sold at the door if not sold out in advance.

The Song Tree Concert Series is co-sponsored by and benefits, in part, the Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Goleta, California. Information is available on the web at www.SongTree.org; by phone at (805) 403-2639; or by email at Concerts@SongTree.org.
