Sulphur Mountain Road is between Oak View and Casitas Springs. As they move from the moist shade of California Bay trees through oak woodland to the chaparral shrubs and wildflowers, walkers will forage for wild plants and learn about their many uses. Expect a gradual, slow-paced, uphill climb of about 3/4 mile on a dirt road, returning at approximately 12 noon. The cost is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors 62 and older, and $15 for students 13-18. Kids 5-12 can go free with an adult by arrangement. No dogs, please. Register at or call.
