The Fabulous Thunderbirds featuring Kim Wilson, with James Cotton, Jody Williams, Bob Margolin and JJ Grey
After a wildly successful tour with the Robert Johnson Centennial Concerts, Blues at the Crossroads returns to celebrate two late blues legends: Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Both musicians vied for the title “father of modern Chicago Blues” and are considered the key bluesmen who inspired Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and others in the 1960s British blues explosion. Though friends, Muddy and “The Wolf ” were professional rivals and constantly tried to outdo each other, going on to create classics of the genre, such as “Spoonful,” “Rolling Stone” and “Smokestack Lightning.”
