Introduction to Beekeeping
This beginning beekeeper’s class will introduce participants to the respectful and organic ways of keeping honeybees.
When: Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Description:
Overall focus will home in on the unique challenges and benefits to beekeeping in Santa Barbara County. It is designed to build basic beekeeping skills; topics covered include the honeybee society and biology, equipment, starting colonies, and spring management requirements. There will be a visit to the Fairview Gardens Apiary at the end of the class. You are welcome to bring your own protective gear, or a bee veil will be provided.
