Set in the shadows of the Great Smokey Mountains "Mittie's Song" tells the story of one woman's courage to survive violence and shame. Music becomes her muse and ultimate redemption.The plays 20 original songs are performed on stage by playwright Jimmie Ray Cantrell and wife Cindi with accompanying musicians.

The drama is directed by Asa Olsson who is the Plaza Playhouse Theater's Artistic Director. The production stars noted actress Shannon Saleh as "Mittie." The play was adapted Asa Olsson and JR Cantrell from his novel "Son of Shame." Some scenes contain adult language.
