Since his extraordinary debut with《OntheDreamland》(夢土上) in1955, Zheng Chou yu(Wen.taoCheng) has become one of the most widely read and best loved poets in the Chinese language. His work has been translated into English, Japanese, Korean, German and French with over 15 collecons of poetry published in 170 editions. He received an MFA from the Creative Workshop of the English Department at the University of Iowa in 1972. He was a member of the Yale University faculty for over 30 years and his other appointments include Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong, and Chair Professor at the Naonal Quemoy University and National Tsing Hua University.
