The jazz scene is abuzz about singer, pianist, composer, and MAXJAZZ recording artist, John Proulx, brought to you by the Santa Barbara Jazz Society. Proulx's (pronounced Proo) piano playing is hot and swinging, and his voice recalls the smooth, mellow sounds of a young Chet Baker. John is also a Grammy winning composer. Jazz legend, Nancy Wilson, recorded "These Golden Years," and Mary Stallings recorded "Stuck in a Dream" and "Before You Know It," composed by John. He has performed with the likes of Anita O'Day, Natalie Cole, and Marian McPartland. Rounding out the trio are Richard Simon on bass and Kendall Kaye on drums. Admission to the event is $12 for Jazz Society members, $20 for non-members, and $7 for professional musicians and full time students. Please join us for a fabulous afternoon of pure jazz!
