When Julia accidentally dies during a performance, Robert blames Alfred for her death and they become enemies.
Before moving on to a Batman sequel, Nolan directed, co-wrote and produced the mystery thriller The Prestige, starring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman as magicians whose obsessive rivalry leads to tragedy and murder.
