Leader and vibraphonist, Ruben Estrada, was chosen to play and featured on the award winning 1995 Poncho Sanchez Album, "Soul Sauce: Memories of Cal Tjader," which some consider to be a masterpiece. Drummer and Ruben's son, Cougar, is a regular with the world renowned Latin rock band, Los Lobos and is only available to play with his dad's band when his busy schedule permits. Rounding out the band are some fine players from LA and Orange County: Edmund Velasco - sax, Jonathan Pintoff - bass, Mark Massey - piano, and Joe De Leon - congas. Latin jazz, as well as jazz lovers in general, won't want to miss this exciting concert.
Admission is $12 for Jazz Society members, $20 for non-members and $7 for musicians and students. For more information, call or visit: www.sbjazz.org and www.estradabrothers.com.
