Six-Week Walk/Run Training Program

Participants of all levels can prepare for the 20th Annual Walk/Run.

In partnership with the Montecito YMCA, the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara is offering a a free program to help participants of all ability levels prepare for the 20th Annual Walk/Run taking place on Sunday, October 14. All proceeds from the Walk/Run benefit local cancer research through Cancer Center's Clinical Research Program.

First-time exercisers, those seeking to get back into shape, cancer patients and survivors, experienced athletes, and past event participants are all welcome to participate. Weekly workouts will be provided to help you reach your distance and time goals for the 5K (3.1-mile) or 10K (6.2-mile) course.

Training sessions will begin at Leadbetter Beach Park. (Look for the blue Cancer Center pop-up tent.) The group will also meet once at Montecito Union School so that participants can practice the event course (on 9/25).

For safety reasons, we ask that you please leave your pets at home.
