Travis’ multi-disciplinary approach to creative art uses photography, painting, and video. Influenced by international graffiti he has photographed around the world, he re-works it and combines it with his own painting process that exposes the codified messages of urban ritual scrawl.
The opening will take place inside the historic Craviotto building at 634 Anacapa, which now houses Santa Barbara Forge and Iron, a custom metal fabrication shop. As well as Travis’ 2-D work, the show will feature video art and even an interactive area for the audience to participate in creating a unique group-art piece.
A California native, Travis has spent the last 15 years in Europe and Central America working as the special events creative consultant for LACOSTE, LONGCHAMP, VICTOR INOX. First in Berlin, then Paris and Guatemala, his creativity influenced the public vision of the brands.
Hutchison is a multi-disciplinary contemporary artist creating layered ethnographic combinations to engage us on a visceral level, eliciting responses that move us on a call to participate in his vision. His work has been exhibited widely in Europe at galleries and Museums such as Musee D'Art Moderne in Luxembourg, MOMU in Antwerp, and Museum Bellerine in Zurich, G-Module in Paris. His creations are in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Atopos in Greece, as well as FIT in New York.
