University Wind Ensemble: Inspired

Annual fall concert featuring a variety of inspired works including twentieth century classics "Vesuvius" by Frank Ticheli, "Variations on a Shaker Melody" by Aaron Copland, and "Romanian Dances" by Bela Bartók.

The University Wind Ensemble with Paul Bambach, Director, and Amanda Kritzberg, Graduate Assistant. Also performed will be the Santa Barbara premiere of "Elegy for Albinoni" by Shelley Hanson. Featured works will be Eric Whitacre's image-filled "Cloudburst" and Robert W. Smith's four-movement work inspired by Dante Aleghieri's Divine Comedy. Along with traditional wind and percussion effects, the concert will include a wide variety of ensemble performance techniques and audience participation.
