Super Sunday Phonathon
Jewish Federation will host largest fundraiser on the Global Day of Jewish Learning.
When: Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Bronfman Family Jewish Community Center, 524 Chapala St., Santa Barbara
Cost: Free
Age limit: All ages
Categories: Calendar of Fundraisers
Description:
Dozens of volunteers will staff phones at the Bronfman Family Jewish Community Center, calling a few thousand people with hopes of raising more than $100,000 in one day for essential social programs including youth scholarships, senior services, and counseling, all serving the local community. Volunteers are needed to make phone calls and help the phonathon run smoothly. They will be provided with food, fantastic prizes from local merchants, and community service credit for teens.
On the same day, Federation is also partnering with the Global Day of Jewish Learning, and there will be two educational sessions, free of charge and open to all, beginning at 10:30.
For more than 30 years, the Federation has raised funds from among the Santa Barbara Jewish community and allocated them to various social service agencies - serving Jews and non-Jews alike - providing critical human services to hundreds of recipients each year.
