In addition, Kathryn Ford Onano has been collecting Japanese vintage kimono from both sides of the Pacific Rim and transforming imperfect kimono into wearable art. Her label, Onano, now adorns vests and ties―each unusual for its beading, hand-painting, embroidery, or ancestral markings―and sold in such stores as I.
