Description:
The choir sings a balance of Renaissanc and contemporary music, like Eric Whitacre, whose virtual choir Lux Arumque, is a YouTube favorite. Also featuring resident composer and singer Michael Eglin. He has won awards for composition, a lovely setting of Sara Teasdale's "Barter", for one, and is currently working on re-imagining Appalachian roots music in some striking settings. These plaintive melodies are so evocative and reminiscent of an America long gone. Two of these pieces will be sung in this concert.
