Description:
International Astronomy Day is Saturday, April 28!
Join the Astronomical Unit, Santa Barbara’s Astronomy Club, between 10 am and 10pm for a day of fun.
We’ll have safely filtered telescopes set up for viewing sunspots and prominences, the first quarter moon, and, in the evening, Saturn and Venus and all kinds of double stars, nebulae, clusters, and galaxies! See a homemade radio telescope. Watch a telescope mirror being made. There will be a free raffle to give away a new 8-inch Dobsonian telescope and accessories. The lucky recipient will be chosen at 3pm, and must be present to win.
After sunset, there will be a telescope clinic (7 pm) and a star party (8 to 10pm), with multiple telescopes set up to view the sky.
