Over 85% of us have or will suffer with low back compression and pain at some point. Low back pain can result from disk spurs, disk compression, bulging disks and sciatica. Low back discomfort is so common that it has become a part of our daily life. It is often caused by asymmetrical strain due to tightness on one side of the body. This workshop aims to provide education and movements to release the constrictions in the lumbar and sacral areas through gliding, sliding, and stretching movements.
Through these movements we can learn to release the tightness, tension and stiffness present in the muscles, tendons and ligaments and hydrate these areas thus bringing relief. In this workshop we will learn somatic sensory awareness training to loosen these tight areas, as well as perform twists and side bends that reduce asymmetry in the sacrum and lower back. Standing and seated twists can rejuvenate these areas and have a wringing effect on the internal organs that promote circulation and blood flow through all the spinal nerves.
