Where: S.B. Maritime Museum, 113 Harbor Wy., #190, Santa Barbara

Entertaining and educational, the beautifully illustrated presentation takes children on a sometimes scary and always wacky journey through the actual and imagined activities of these unique inhabitants of the ocean, creatures with whom Shaun has had many close-up encounters while surfing the world’s oceans. From a Tiger Shark trying to munch you for brunch, and then if it’s still hungry, also for lunch, to a Puffer Fish turning you into a zombie, the rhymes combine fact and fantasy, to stimulate interest and appreciation for these unique creatures. As a board member of Surfrider Foundation, Shaun will also outline a few simple steps that children can take to preserve and protect the ocean environment.

Kids can enjoy a coloring contest in the Maritime Museum’s Children’s Area at 1pm. Judging will take place at 1:30pm with prizes.

Free with museum admission.
