Maier's research interests are focused on translation theory, criticism, practice and pedagogy. She also studies contemporary Peninsular literature, particularly the work of MarĂa Zambrano, Rosa Chacel, and Catalan writer Nuria Amat.
Carol Maier is Professor of Spanish at Kent State University and an affiliate of the Institute for Applied Linguistics and NEOMFA, the North East Ohio MFA program in creative writing.
