Noted local author T.C. Boyle will read from his latest novel When the Killing’s Done, in which he again tackles the dark side of “utopian longing in America.” As much as Boyle is known for his ability to examine and give life to historical narratives, he is also a relentless chronicler of the sometimes brutal intersection of humankind and nature as well as our place in the wild in general. In researching When the Killing’s Done, Boyle spent much time on Santa Cruz Island, where most of the novel is set, and also drew from his own experiences as a long-time resident of Santa Barbara.

Among our finest writers. Sorry I missed this event. He reads like the Devil hisself.

Off to get his latest offering as the theme in the subject matter arrives at a time when the the terrible consequences of greed and the lust for power have evidenced themselves greatly in our little American lives.

Boyle always has something to say and there are few, very few, who say it better.
