With support from Santa Barbara City College Adult Education, Cancer Center of Santa Barbara presents its fourth annual “Art Heals” exhibition, featuring artwork by local cancer patients, survivors, and community members participating in Cancer Center's Creative Art classes. This extraordinary collection of works gives vision and voice to the experiences of those who have been touched by illness. Instructor and local artist, Rick Stich, will showcase his students work in the hallways of the Cancer Center while guests enjoy wine and cheese. In addition, Santa Barbara Art Association has donated works of art for a raffle benefitting Cancer Center's Wellness Program.
Research suggests that the creative process involved in making art is healing and life-enhancing. Cancer Center of Santa Barbara is proud to offer art programs and other wellness programs free of charge to anyone living with, through, or beyond cancer.
