The Santa Barbara Music Club presents a free afternoon concert featuring outstanding musicians performing music of the 19th and 20th centuries. Performers will include the Channel Island String Quartet performing Turina’s La Oracion del Torero (the Bullfighter’s Prayer) and Milhaud’s melodic and descriptive Quartet #4.Takako Wakita, soprano, and John Sonquist, pianist, will perform ever-popular songs by Bernstein, including a group entitled I Hate Music. The concert will conclude with duo pianists Betty Oberacker and Steven Schneider playing Dvorak’s brilliant and expressive Legends and Slavonic Dances.
